Mackatrain was founded in January of 2018 to serve a need for high-quality CPR training in the Greater Atlanta community. Our goal is to train and certify our participants to be prepared to act when emergencies arise with First Aid courses from The National American Red Cross. All courses are developed and taught by experts, our training satisfies OSHA, and most workplace regulatory requirements. From personalized learning to interactive scenarios to peer-to-peer learning and hands-on skill practice, you will be prepared to provide care when it's needed most.
Whether you take an instructor-led class, or take advantage of our blended learning experience, which combines online coursework with instructor-led training, you'll learn from some of the best in the industry. Knowledgeable, understanding and able to deliver information suited to a wide range of learning styles, American Red Cross first aid instruction will help ensure that you not only understand the steps for performing first aid, but that you have the confidence and skills necessary to perform them correctly.

Adult CPR/AED-r.21
The Adult CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Successful students will receive a certificate for Adult CPR/AED valid for two years.

Developed and taught by experts, our training satisfies OSHA, workplace or other regulatory requirements. From personalized learning to interactive scenarios to peer-to-peer learning and hands-on skill practice, you will be prepared to provide care when it's needed most.
Adult First Aid/CPR/AED-r.21
The 2021 Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED - r.21
The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns cuts scrapes sudden illnesses head neck back injuries heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
BLS for Healthcare Professionals - R.21
American Red Cross BLS training classes can help you safely and effectively respond to medical emergencies in your community. By blending reading and lecture with hands-on experience, our Basic Life Support training allows you to learn new techniques and sharpen your skills so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes. Available for individuals and teams, our BLS courses are modular and flexible – and can help you meet your organization's standards for care.
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor-BL-r.21
This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. Basic Life Support-BL r.21
The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history. The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education. classes offered - SPECIALIZED SKILL BOOST TRAINING
Skill Boost: Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector Administration*
This 45-minute skill boost module provides individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize anaphylaxis and give care for a person experiencing anaphylactic shock by administering medication until advanced EMS personnel arrive and begin their care of the person.
Skill Boost: Asthma and Quick-Relief Medication Administration*
This 45-minute skill boost module provides individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize an asthma attack and give care for a person experiencing an attack by administering medication until advanced EMS personnel arrive and begin their care of the person. This module includes the demonstration of, and skill practice session and assessment scenario for, administering quick-relief medication using an inhaler with a spacer. In addition, optional content is available for administering quick-relief medication using a nebulizer device.
Skill Boost: Life-Threatening Bleeding and Tourniquet Application*
This 75-minute skill boost module provides individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize life-threatening bleeding and give care to a person with life-threatening bleeding until advanced EMS personnel arrive and begin their care of the person. This skill boost was developed to address the need for training in the use of direct pressure, applying a tourniquet and wound packing.
Skill Boost: Head, Neck, Muscle, Bone and Joint Injuries and Splinting*
This 60-minute skill boost module helps individuals recognize and care for head, neck, and spinal injuries as well as muscle, bone, and joint injuries, including the
need for training in the use of a rigid splint and a sling and binder. This skill boost also includes optional training in the use of a vacuum splint.
Skill Boost: Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Administration*
This 45-minute skill boost helps individuals recognize an opioid overdose and trains them how to administer naloxone via the nose (nasal spray or nasal atomizer). For this skill boost, if participants are not certified in CPR, they must complete skill practice in compression-only CPR for this skill boost.
*To take any and all skill boosts, participants must have a valid and current certification in First Aid and/or CPR/AED (including First Aid/CPR/AED, Lifeguarding, EMR, RTE). A skill boost can also be added to a First Aid/CPR/AED course.

CLASS SET-UP
Classroom Space
- The First Aid/CPR/AED courses all require a classroom space suitable for lecture, videos, demonstrations, skill practice and assessment scenarios.
- The classroom should provide a clean, safe, comfortable and appropriate learning environment.
- The room should be well lit, well ventilated and have a comfortable temperature.
- Depending on the number of participants, training rooms should have plenty of floor space to accommodate students working on the floor with manikins.
- Audio Video equipment is requested however our instructors come with projectors to use for presentations. If there is not AV please have a bare wall or projector screen and electrical outlet available to power the equipment.
- Student teacher ratio = 12:1 (CPR classes minimum of 2 participants / BLS classes minimum of 3 participants). Larger classes require additional instructors.
CERTIFICATION
To successfully complete a First Aid/CPR/AED course, the participant must:
■ Attend and participate in all class sessions and successfully complete the online session (blended learning courses only).
■ Actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during skill practices and assessment scenarios.
■ Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
■ Successfully complete all assessment scenarios.
On successful completion of a First Aid/CPR/AED course, participants receive an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/ AED certification via email within 24 to 48 hours or sooner after the closing of the class. These certifications are valid for 2 years.
PAYMENT
Payment for classes is due before certification.
